Wow, that is very impressive and makes me feel rather materialistic. Well if nothing else you can give the gift of knowledge and buy some lovely quality ebooks

But I do have this awesome gift in mind... And we'll have to buy a new (fake) christmas tree (I can't stand the needles on a real one, they'll cause an allergic reaction, and I love decorating the tree, the only thing I like about Christmas...), because the one we have is too small for the livingroom (only about 1,5m high, while the livingroom is almost 3m high...) |

Okay, so while we're on the subject, let me get some advice here. I want to get my mother in law an ebook reader for Christmas. However, she doesn't like to use a computer, so giving her a Sony like mine is probably not the best idea, as I don't want to have to explain calibre and sideloading books, and buying books on the computer and then putting them on a device via USB.
I was thinking then, a Nook (not the color one), so the computer part would be minimized. She can buy books directly from the device, and just have to set up a BN account. Chris says it can't be a Kindle, as the buttons on the bottom would intimidate her. Does this sound logical? Any other ideas? |

My mother is fairly computer savvy, she knows how to connect USB devices and drag&drop and things. She even knows how to put music on her (very simple!) Mp3 player. But she'll still call me when she has problems with her reader. And it's handy if you know how it works yourself, so, if she does run into problems, you'll be able to help her. If she lives close by, that's not much of a problem, however, if she lives further away, it could be... |
