Acer E-Book-Reader: Digitale Bücher billiger lesen

Chip.de bringt einen kleinen Bericht über den Acer-E-Book Reader, der ab Oktober für 200 Euro erhältlich sein sollte. Von den Vorankündigungen her hätte ich eher erwartet, die steigen mit einem deutlich günstigeren Preis ein, um gegen die schon bestehende Konkurrenz von Kindel und Sony bestehen zu können. Naja, vielleicht denken sie mit dem Webbrowser und der Quertz Tastatur sind sie dem Rest überlegen und können es sich leisten teurer zu sein

Ich glaube beim Preis der EInk-Reader kann man keine Wunder erwarten. Die Preise von Amazon wird hier keiner halten können. Die direkte Anbindung an Amazon schafft halt die Möglichkeit, Gewinne auch nach dem Kauf einzufahren.

In diese Richtung versucht ja auch Libri mit dem Acer zu gehen, aber das Ebook Angebot bleibt halt trotzdem in Deutschland dürftig. Bei den Preisen scheint sich aber jetzt doch etwas zu tun, habe zuletzt von Heyne Ebooks gekauft die ca. 2 Euro unter dem TB-Preis lagen.

Das Ding ist echt hässlich. So was kommt mir nichts ins Haus.

Wer nur Hardware verkauft muss ganz anders kalkulieren als z.B. Amazon die eine andere Wertschöpfungskette haben. So mancher würde wohl schnell pleite gehen wenn er preislich mit Amazon konkurrieren wollte. Das muss jeder selbst überlegen wieviel er wofür bezahen will.

Aber der Preis ist bei vielen sicherlich der erst Anhaltspunkt; manchmal auch der einzige.

Die libri.de-Seite . Zumindest liest er mehr Formate als der Thalia Reader: "PDF, ePub, CHM, MOBI (ohne DRM), HTML, TXT, DOC, RTF, Wörterbuch; ". (Wörterbuch?)

Wenn das mit dem Scanner allerdings klappt, bin ich dafür: "Ein besonders hilfreiches Feature ist der integrierte ISBN Strichcode-Scanner, mit dem der User die digitale Ausgabe eines Buches kinderleicht findet. So kann der Besitzer des Acer LumiRead einfach den Strichcode der gewünschten Bücher scannen, auf diese Weise eine Wunschliste zusammenstellen, die betreffenden Titel als Digitalausgabe direkt online kaufen und sofort lesen. "

Ich interpretiere das so, dass plötzlich magisch digitale Ausgaben aller Print-Bücher mit valider ISBN entstehen ...

Wobei ich es mir ja schon etwas unverschämt vorstelle, in einen "Fremd"-Buchladen zu laufen und mich beraten zu lassen, und dann nur das Buch zu scannen und wieder zu gehen. Vielleicht könnten öffentliche Büchereien das ja als Sonderservice anbieten? "Tut mir leid, das Buch, das Sie suchen ist leider momentan ausgeliehen, und wegen der aktuellen Haushaltslage haben wir nur ein Exemplar. Wir haben hier aber einen Katalog mit allen Barcodes, kaufen Sie es doch online bei unserem Partner libri.de".

Ja klar, die Leute, die das machen, gehen auch in ein Restaurant, studieren die Speisekarte, eventuell probieren sie noch in der Küche von dem super Carpaccio und gehen dann nach Hause um beim Bringdienst ein Pizza zu bestellen!

Mal ehrlich, wer nimmt denn den Reader mit zum Einkaufen?
Dafür, das man ihn immer und überall dabei hat, ist doch ein normaler Reader viel zu groß. Und der Acer doch erst recht.
Wenn sich jemand den Titel eines Buches nicht merken kann, dann kann man ganz gut zu Stift und Papier greifen. Oder, sollte das mal nicht greifbar sein, wobei ich mir das in einem Buchladen nicht vorstellen kann, macht man ein Foto von dem Buch. Heute hat doch leider jedes Handy eine Kamara.
