Talking I got my JBL

I got one. I recieved my jetbook lite thursday. I have been playing around off on this weekend. The hardware is impressive, and the display is excellent inside or out in the bright Florida sun. I think I like this better than the eink ones I've seen. Thr page turns are fast, and I am enjoying the reading experience.

I am dissapointed that there is not support from a major ebook retailer. I will have to get another reader to have better access to more popular ebooks at ecconomical prices, unlesss JBL gets EPUB DRM. But for now I am realy happy with it.

Chose an author, choose your format preference, and download.

Granted I end up redoing file names often, but other than that its my #1 site.
Baen's free library is #2.

The DRM currently supported by the JBL, the eReader DRM, is still one of
those that are being offered by some ebook retailers. There is an effort
underway at Ectaco to also offer the same DRM support available now
on the JB, for the JBL, as well.

That said, all the ebooks provided by, any ebook retailer, can be read on
the JBL - as soon as you remove the DRM, from the file you purchase. In
some cases you may also need to convert the ebook format, but the JBL
already handles most of them. You might want to convert some anyway
just to improve the formatting, to your tastes and the JBL's display.

If you were to restrict yourself to only those who provide a particular
DRM format supported by your device, you are artificially locking your
ebook purchases into certian providers, something that has very seldom
led to lower pricing.

As of yet, there is no DRM scam that will allow for making purchases at
any or all ebook retailers.

Luck;
Ken

If you're a Windows user, you may wish to do a google search for "Inept Suite" to help you with purchasing books at any retailer and truly "owning" the book you purchase.

The JBL is great for the number of formats it can read, so why limit yourself to what DRM is supported? BTW, the 15g firmware is supposed to add EPUB DRM support if you want to go that limited route.
