Where Are Procedures For Hard Reset?

Unit did not charge last night. Still half battery gauge. Now frozen on FORMATTING (and has not done that since I processed every book through CONNECT SOFTWARE. I recall hard reset might fix. SOFT RESET DID NOT even when connected to charger.
