If the eBooks are posted in Mobipocket format, using mobi2oeb will get you the HTML you want.

Yeah, but then you have to remove DRM.
I have no clue how to do it. I don't understand anything about programming.

You don't need to understand programming. You just need to run a program. It's not really hard.

It's not as widespread, but it might be easier to at least get an agreement to support Ereader on the Sony than Mobipocket. That might also get more people using Ereader, especially since it's now available for the iPhone.

by itself HTML is a terrible format. All the images are in separate files scattered around making it difficult to use on a different device and difficult to manage. In addition a large eBook will likely be divided into multiple files. What you need is a container for HTML so that everything is together. Guess what ePUB is?

Guys you are too smart for me

One of the three formats Tor let us to download for free was HTML. So easy to make any ebook format in BD and no DRM.

I frankly could care less what format the ebooks are in as long as it is a universal standard and DRM is not around..

That being said, convertlit does a good job of turning a .lit book into an html file.

If I have lit file I can use BD to convert it to whatever is needed. So, I would not have to convert lit to HTML than HTML into something else.

And even then the download format was a zip file. HTML by itself is good so long as there are no pictures, only one file, and all embedded formating. However even then to provide a download you need to put it in a container otherwise the browser will try and display it rather than download it. Also HTML is fairly verbose and zip helps to make the file smaller.
