That has little to do with the link format. The Amazon.com server serves different contents depending on what it knows about you (ccokies, last Amazon customer log in).

Thus a UK customer may see "pricing information not available" on the detail page but the UK Kindle price converted to dollars including tax in "all books by author" and on the display of "all formats" (hc, paperback, audio, Kindle).

Note also that if you find any page you can find the corresponding .ca .com .co.uk etc pages by reversing the procedure. The page however may not exist or be flagged "not available" if the book is not sold there.

Thanks. Changing my location to NZ worked fine. Wasn't free in whatever country I'd set it to last.

Ever After (Rachel Morgan Series #11)
by Kim Harrison

is today's Nook Daily Find. It can be downloaded for $1.99.

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/ever...i=kim+harrison

Below is the blurb:
Witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan needs to save the demonic realm of the Ever After in the eleventh entry in the New York Times bestselling Hollows series from supernatural adventure master Kim Harrison.

When Rachel sets off a chain of events that could lead to the end of the world—demonic and human—she must use her gifts to save those closest to her while preventing an apocalypse.

Satisfying and sexy, a visit to the Hollows will take readers on a wild journey that will capture their imagination. Fans of Charlaine Harris and Stephenie Meyer won't be able to resist Kim Harrison's alternative universe—urban fantasy Cincinnati complete with vampires, witches, and other enchanting creatures—where spine-tingling adventures and fast-paced action are the norm.

To celebrate/promote its release of Lucius Shepard's final novel, Subterranean Press is dropping the prices of its other two Shepard e-books for one week. From August 4th (yesterday) through August 10th, The Best of Lucius Shepard (regularly $2.99) and The Dragon Griaule (regularly $4.99) are only $1.99. Those links will take you to the publisher's site, where you'll find direct links to purchase pages at Amazon US, Barnes and Noble, and Kobo. I believe SubPress e-books are only available to US buyers.

There's one story that appears in both these collections, but otherwise the contents are distinct. The Dragon Griaule is a set of linked stories that also connects to that newly-released novel, Beautiful Blood, which is also available as an e-book, but at the full price of $6.99.

Lucius Shepard was a national treasure, and his passing leaves us without one of the great voices of speculative fiction. If you've never experienced him, and still aren't convinced to buy these books even at drastically reduced prices, you should be aware that several of these, including the original Griaule story, can be read on-line for free at the links found on this page.

"R&R" is probably the greatest single piece of fiction I've ever read.

In anticipation of the release of Daring, book two in the Pax Arcana series, this months Oribtal Drop special for the US is...

Charming by Elliott James for $1.99
Amazon | B&N | Kobo | Google | OmniLit
Quote:
John Charming isn't your average Prince...

He comes from a line of Charmings -- an illustrious family of dragon slayers, witch-finders and killers dating back to before the fall of Rome. Trained by a modern day version of the Knights Templar, monster hunters who have updated their methods from chain mail and crossbows to Kevlar and shotguns, John Charming was one of the best--until a curse made him one of the abominations the Knights were sworn to hunt.

That was a lifetime ago. Now, John tends bar under an assumed name in rural Virginia and leads a peaceful, quiet life. That is, until a vampire and a blonde walked into his bar...

CHARMING is the first novel in a new urban fantasy series which gives a new twist to the Prince Charming tale.

Sharp, sarcastic, and efficiently lethal, John Charming would feel right at home having drinks with Dean Winchester and Harry Dresden. If you're looking for a new urban fantasy series to pick up, CHARMING is a guaranteed page-turner.

Here is the August 2014 Samsung Book Deals selection relevant to this thread, excerpted from this post.

Deviants [The Dust Chronicles, #1], by Maureen McGowan (normally $3.99) - teen fiction, science fiction, fantasy

Publication Date: Publication Date: October 30, 2012
Book Description:

In Glory's world, different means deviant—and dead.

In a post-apocalyptic world, where the earth is buried by asteroid dust that’s mutated the DNA of some humans, an orphaned sixteen-year-old, Glory, must hide and protect her younger brother. If their Deviant abilities are discovered, they’ll be expunged—kicked out of the dome to be tortured and killed by the Shredders. Glory would give anything to get rid of her unique ability to kill with her emotions, especially when Cal, the boy she’s always liked, becomes a spy for the authorities. But when her brother is discovered, and she learns their father, who was expunged for killing their mother, is still alive, she must escape the domed city that’s been her entire world.

Outside in the ruins, they’re pursued by the authorities and by sadistic, scab-covered Shredders who are addicted to the lethal-to-humans dust now covering the planet. Glory’s quests to transport herself and her brother to safety make up the thrilling and fascinating first volume of The Dust Chronicles.

The author of Deviants has donated this book to the Worldreader program.

Thanks for this. I read the book first back in 1972 so it was obviously the cut version. I'm now quite curious so will have to get the uncut version!
