In Atlantis Word Processor Blog you can find information about "intended" and "unintended" page breaks in eBooks:

Do you mean that the error message is displayed by the setup of Atlantis Word Processor? Or you cannot run the installed copy of Atlantis?
Was it a "clean install", or you had an older version of Atlantis before? |

It was a clean install of a copy of Atlantis I downloaded. The Atlantis install screen came up and the message box popped up immediately.

It is something exceptional. Our users NEVER reported error messages of the setup of Atlantis Word Processor. Could you attach a screen capture of the entire setup window, or email it to support@AtlantisWordProcessor.com?
Maybe the setup file is corrupt. Please check its size. It should be 3,348,006 bytes (version 1.6.5). If possible, please zip & email your setup file of Atlantis to support@AtlantisWordProcessor.com. Please try running the online setup file of Atlantis Word Processor: http://www.AtlantisWordProcessor.com...lantis16en.exe (100 KB) Do you get the same error message? |

I am glad that you managed to install Atlantis Word Processor on your PC. But you do not need to launch the setup file of Atlantis Word Processor through the "Run As Administrator" command of Windows. When you launch the setup of Atlantis, it automatically requests "elevation" from Windows.

I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium with all of the latest patches from Microsoft. Frankly, my PC has been running slower since the last patches, I think it was the one they pushed out Thursday, February 25th. I've only used Atlantis for a few minutes but I like it a lot already. Thanks again for your help. |

By default, Atlantis uses the Documents folder of the current user to open/save documents. But this can be changed. Just click the "Browse..." button in the "Tools | Options... > Load/Save" dialog of Atlantis, and choose another "default folder" for your documents. Or uncheck the "Use Document Folder" box in the same dialog. Atlantis would remember "last used" folder, and automatically suggest it next time you use the "File | Open..." command. |

Batch conversion
The latest beta version of Atlantis Word Processor 1.6.5.1 has a new "batch conversion" command. You can use it to convert many documents to the EPUB format at one go.
EPUB is not the only output format offered by this "batch conversion" command. It can convert RTF, DOC, DOCX, ODT, COD (the proprietary encrypted document format of Atlantis Word Processor), or TXT documents to the RTF, DOC, DOCX, COD, TXT, or EPUB format. You can find details here: http://atlantiswordprocessor.blogspo...onversion.html The new beta can be downloaded from this page: http://www.AtlantisWordProcessor.com/en/beta Last edited by awp; 03-05-2010 at 06:04 PM. |

Are there plans for Atlantis to be able to open, and edit, an ePub anytime soon?

We do not have such plans at the moment. But this might change in the future. Everything is possible.

I don't know if it would really differ, but how about the user unzipping an ePub and pointing Atlantis to the main file, be that TOC or whatever it is. Sorry, I don't know the structure of an ePub well enough to say for sure...

Pointing Atlantis to what you call "the main file" would not help. Atlantis itself can unzip files. The problem is not with unzipping. The problem is that there are quite many incompatibilities between the content structure of EPUBs and the document structure used in Atlantis and other generic word processors. Most of those incompatibilities (if not all of them) can be probably resolved in one way or another. But it is not a simple task. Things would be much simpler if EPUB editing was the only purpose of Atlantis. But it is not. eBook-related features of Atlantis Word Processor are just a small fraction of the entire set of Atlantis features.
