I'm hoping ePub will be using ADE so it also has Adobe's DRM.

Apparently Visio is a Microsoft program that uses vector graphics to create diagrams.
Considering all the Microsoft support, it's probably safe to assume the "QUE" will have a Microsoft OS, eh? |

WINCE means to not expect much third party applications to be ported over either officially or unofficially and if there is even a browser on this thing, it will be ancient. On the other hand, I expect this to have good international font support. I understand the interface is custom made, but I wonder if WINCE's Windows 3.1-era look will popup if there is a system error.

They also have a dedicated informational web site for the Que:
http://quereader.com/ Although it is a bit spartan right now. BOb |

wonder why it takes forever for all these companies to design ereaders, most of which looks the same anyway!! Astak has been designing a reader with touch screen, wifi for what, 2+ years? Plastic logic has been "announcing" this same device for year+? Now they say they will announce the availability 3 months from now? give me a break.. all I want is an ereader with wifi.. is that too much to wish?

For the Plastic Logic and the 9.7" Astak, etc. the wait as far as I know has been the tech to be able to produce the plastic screens as opposed to the current screens which are glass. |

Lol... They just announced that the day before that big B&N press event (Where they will announce their 6" reader and possibly release the new 8" Irex).
And all this hype for a couple of bad shots and to announce that they will announce the date of availability in 3 months. Bad Joke. They sure want people to keep waiting without buying anything. Ps for the mods: BTW, why the new readers from B&N and Irex didn't make it to the front page news? I mean, even the "Gosund e-reader from China" did get its front page news? Is there an issue with B&N / Irex & MobileRead? |

That might be part of the reason, but this release, and the Spring Design Alex one, might also be coordinated with the B&N announcement. It is (just barely) news that Plastic Logic will support B&N eReader DRM. Almost everyone assumed they would, but they never said so until now. They are also not (today) saying Adobe DRM, although almost everyone assumes they will support this too.

I've read over on Gizmodo or Engadget that it's pronounced like cue, not like it's the Spanish word for what.
My Kindle DX has been great for reading PDFs, so I'm certainly going to be looking at a device that gives me that and more. However, isn't Apple's rumored/mythical iTablet supposed to be announced early next year, too? Interesting developments all 'round. |

Unfortunately there's no reader that can open OpenOffices format!
Open formats like HTML (.odt for openoffice) would be very desirable. The black shiny looks, makes it look more professional too. As usual the price is a major determining factor for this device! It would be nice to see a device like this released with PixelQi's screen, much like a netbook, but with the same sizes as this one, and hopefully a long battery life too!
