Wacom press release about IREX DR800SG

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-relea...-70454762.html

Interesting that they claim in the first sentence the DR800 will be the first consumer ereader to feature a Wacom pen considering that the Onyx Boox is for sale and in consumers hands outside of North America.

Isn't Onyx an OEM and not available directly to consumers? sure some reviewers have them but that does not mean anyone can buy it.

When I've looked, I've been unable to find any place selling the Boox. Even the official website, has a shopping cart setup, but no items for sale.

In the US that is true- although I am working to change that- but it has been sold to consumers in China and other Asian countries for months and is actually available in Europe through a Spanish site (can't find that url at the moment). A large portion of the last production run went to Europe.

I have found one distributor in Poland:
http://www.ebookpl.com/ksiegarnia/el...eader/boox-60/
It is 1499 PLN (370 Euro, 550$)

And one more (from Netherlands)
http://www.pdashop.nl/product-galler...11-handhelds/0
It is 399 Euro

It's possible that other similar technologies have been used but not the "real deal" official Wacom endorsed version perhaps?

Also "consumer eReader" is a huge qualification as there's no way to be 100% sure what they really mean by that.

In all cases, it's meaningless marketing drivel.
