What's On YOUR Fire?
It's been almost a month since I go the Kindle, and after installing and then removing a number of apps, I've gotten down to my "core list" of apps. Here they are:
Feedly (RSS reader - as close to Fliuboard as I've found) NY Times (had to sideload) Enhanced Email (good, but not worth $10) Opera (better browser) Calengoo (good calendar app) InkPad (notepad) MaplePaint (written notes and drawings) DocsToGo (office suite) Perfect Viewer (comic reader) HootSuite (twitter client) Netflix (streaming video) Pandora (streaming music) MapQuest (mapping) FileExpert (folder/file management) So far, aside from wanting a better RSS/Twitter reader, and an improved handwritten notepad, I'm pretty satisfied. What other things have people been using that are worth not just trying but actually keeping? |

Great List:
Here's my most frequently used: 1Mobile Market (for access to additional free apps) AccuWeather (better than Weather Channel IMO) Adobe Reader CalenGoo Email (the included app) DropBox (sideloaded) ES File Explorer ESPN ScoreCenter Exchange by Touchdown (for my work email) List Master Pro Netflix Opera Mobile QuickOffice Pro (Love it's integration to lots of online file services) StumbleUpon (great way to kill some time) Games: SimCity Deluxe (picked it up for $0.10) Plants v. Zombies (not the Fire version, I had the regular version from a free app day) Gin Rummy (I prefer card games.) Angry Birds (again regular versions - for the kids mainly) Playing with but not frequently used yet: Allrecipes.com Chef's Kitchen Timer (allows for multiple timers) Comics (reading one series at the moment) EasyRSS (RSS reader that integrates with Google Reader) ReadItLater MapQuest Office Calculator Photoshop Express Zinio I really want a better email app for GMail, something that threads the messages like GMail does. Enhanced Email didn't do it for me so, I just went back to the basic email client. I also tried MailDroid and had too many issues with it. I probably need a better RSS reader but just haven't spent the time to try some out. I am also interested in finding a PDF reader that allows annotation, but it hasn't been a huge priority. Long ago I had a work issued iPad 1 (I've since changed jobs), and there it was great, but here I'm a bit concerned about annotating on the small screen. Between sideloading and the Amazon app store, I've been totally satisfied with finding apps. |

I tend to spend most of my time with streaming my music on the cloud. I have about 6 favorite albums on the device. The rest of the space is in books that I converted from EPUB to MOBI by Calibre. I have about 600 loaded.
APPS on Device are: Evernote ebay Sudoku Deluxe SlideMe (App store not Amazon) ES File and File Manager Pulse FREEdi Youtube StumbleUpon Wifi Turn On/Off Bejeweled 2 (I need this game on all my devices) Pinball Deluxe ComiCat Comics Mantano Reader Netflix Movie Vault Pandora Pocket Informant (it was free) JustReader (RSS feeds) Drawing Pad (it was free) I have about 1.71GB free of 6.54GB avaliable. These are the apps on my Fire:
Pre Installed Factory apps.
I also have about 40 epub books. I don't use the the default reader. I've given up on it till it's fixed. Last edited by Blossom; 12-16-2011 at 01:51 PM. |

Many books and apps, more fingerprints than I can count, and a nice Belkin cover.
