Mobi length limit

Does the Mobi 6 output plugin have some kind of length limit? It seems that any books that I have that kiwidude's Count Pages plugin says is more than about 1500 pages, the output plugin fails. Converting from text only html, no special formatting, no pics, etc. The tmp file referred to at the end of the process doesn't exist after the error.

It's able to convert to KF8 just fine, but as I'm running an old Kindle, that doesn't help me.
