ATDrake, Citizen of the Galaxy doesn't seem to be free any longer:
http://www.webscription.net/s-59-robert-a-heinlein.aspx Do you know if it was bundled on one of their CD-ROMs? William |

Citizen of the Galaxy was never promotional-download-and-read "free", just no-DRM-copy-restriction "free" when bought from Baen. Sorry for the confusion.
But you do save $1 off if you buy it in the bundle while the discount pricing lasts, provided you want the other books in the bundle too. |

You can get all of the Baen CDs as big Zip files or ISOs to burn your own CDs here: http://baencd.thefifthimperium.com (They are offered with the knowledge and permission of Baen, who want the CDs copied and shared.) ______ Dennis |

You're welcome.
There were Free Library volumes issued on the CDs that were not on the Free Library page on the website, so getting the CDs is the only way to get a complete set. One of my background projects is an index of what books are on what CD. There are many books that are on more than one CD, but the distribution varies widely. ______ Dennis |

I'd like to throw in Symon Jade's "Starship Orpheus" series as a decent read here. As a kid I read the first 2 books of the trilogy and was never able to read the 3rd until I found all 3 books in a used book store as an adult. It's very light reading, but definitely in the space opera genre and has 2 strong female characters, though the main character is a male. The series wasn't ground breaking by any stretch of the imagination and I know the titles are out of print now, I have no idea if any ebooks of them exist, but they may be worth a look.
