Importing from Kindle into Calibre
I have some new ebooks just purchased from Amazon via Whispernet. They show up on my Kindle, but not in the Calibre library - why is that, and how can I get them into Calibre?

The books will not automatically appear in your calibre library - you have to take some action to make this happen.
Probably the easiest way is to connect the Kindle via USB, and then when Calibre has recognised the Kindle switch to the Device view showing the books on the Kindle. From there you can right-click on any book and use the "Copy to Library" option to get a copy into the Calibre library. |

Is it possible to do this using the Kindle for ipad app? or only with an actual Kindle.

from Kindle to Calibre
There is no "Copy to Library" option in the menu after right-clicking on the book title.

Sorry - my mistake! I thought I was in the device view, but wasn't. I've now got all the books from the Kindle into the library. Thanks so much for your help!

You could download the file to your computer, and add it to Calibre from there. When you buy an e-book from Amazon, one of the delivery options is to download it to your computer. If you've already bought it and had it delivered to the iPad, go to the "Manage Your Kindle" page, click on the "Actions" button for the book, and select "Download & transfer via USB"
