Logic alone would have told the authorities that it had to be an inside job even if the man hadn't been poking round and asking questions. I mean the thieves brought a truck (presumably a semi not a regular pickup) to the heist. And got away with 2 pallets worth of the devices. Which would beg the question of 'how did they know that the shipment was there?' I mean there is a difference between stealing a camera out of someones luggage and stealing two pallets of electronic devices. Both are illegal, but the one requires a degree of planning that the other doesn't I would think. I imagine they would still have caught up to the man eventually, but if he had chosen an accomplice that knew how to run a fork lift rather than asking questions on their operation of his co-workers just before the heist he might have been free for a little bit longer. Obviously he's no criminal mastermind.

A fair number of iPxxxx thefts are occurring on mass transit. The thief finds someone with device X sitting by the door. They wait for the doors to open, grab the item from the person, and sprint out into the crowd.
