Wild Goose Chase for Rare/Unusual ereaders
Every so often I come across an ereader that I really like and it's either discontinued, or only available in another country, or seems to have been released awhile back with absolutely no models available on the market anywhere. I'm thinking of ereaders like the Wexler Flex One, or the Entourage Edge. I was wondering if there were any sites out there where one may look to find rare ereaders? The places I mainly look are either eBay or Amazon and they don't always have the most diverse selection.

Have you tried contacting european vendors that carry the readers?
Many will happily ship to North America and elsewhere. And the cost isn't always unreasonable. I bought my first eink reader direct from the Netherlands... |

They charge a premium, but you can get the Flex-One from http://www.shopereaders.com/category-s/241.htm
Generally you're better off doing as fjtorres said and buying from overseas directly. For something like the Entourage Edge eBay and Amazon Marketplace are one of the few places since it's been OOP for so long. |

Well, I would try to order the Wexler Flex One from the Russian site directly, but it's all in - well, Russian, and I can't figure out how to navigate it.

I am surprised that a more of these "not affiliated with any store" Readers are not available in the US directly.

A lot of them have WiFi and FCC certification costs money.
If anticipated sales volume doesn't justify the investment... |

One question, if I was to buy an i62HD, would I have to pay VAT or would I get the non-VAT price?

VAT only applies to sales within the EU. But you may be liable to customs duties importing it into the US, plus you would of course have to pay whatever "Use Tax" is applicable in your state.
