Backup

Just a reminder to back up your calibre library.

I just had another one of my Seagate 1500GB drives, die (in warranty)
It was a Clone of my main Storage, so nothing is lost.

I'm running nervously until the replacement arrives, so I decided to pop my Library on a cloud service in the interim - just in case

If you Lib is small enough, pop it on Dropbox / sugarsync / box.net / live mesh etc
If its getting pretty big, the cheapest way is the 25GB skydrive - but limits on individual file size and difficulty uploading make it a pain.

Best option I found at present is to pay the £3ish/pa for an extra 20GB of Google Docs storage. Easy to upload a folder (Best to export you books to a single directory first - otherwise Gdocs will create thousands of Collections)
Then just upload that folder, and its all gravy.

If anyone has other advice for backups, or options for online storage, let us know.

Backup!

I use Microsoft SyncToy (a free download from Microsoft) to keep my library in sync between my laptop's hard disk, and an external USB disk. Works well, and it's free.

If you want dropbox like features from your cheap Google storage, then you can use the free Insync program
