Any Indie Medical Thrillers?

Can anyone recommend medical thrillers written by indie authors? For example, are there any good (or even mediocre ) medical thrillers available through SmashWords, etc.?

Also, from the big name publishers, can anyone recommend non-indie medical thrillers available in e-book format? I've read some Robin Cook and some Michael Palmer, but I'm wondering what other authors are out there.

There is a series at Fictionwise available in multiformat by Renee Horowirz where the main detective character is a pharmacist. I liked the first one best. I would say it was very good while the other ones were in the so-so category.

Tess Gerritsen is an excellent medical thriller writer. Beware, though, some of her early work offered for sale on ereader.com is not the medical thriller genre.

Sorry, I don't know any indie authors.

I read The Surgeon by Tess Gerritson which was a medical thriller and, at the time, was a freebie. It was a pretty good read.

I have some of the earlier Tess Gerritsen books in print. Now I just have to find them. (Another area where e-books are easier. Just search the computer... Now if only the search engine in newer versions of Windows didn't suck eggs. )
