It's been a grey and wet couple of day. The weather predicitions for my postal code for the next two hours sums up today very well: "it will rain for a long period of time (aprox. 0mm).
It has been raining but also not raining; it's not even a drizzle but a very fine and very humid mist. |

A week of +90 F/humid days .... severe storms (2 rounds) at dinner time .... now chilly outside - temps dropped 20 F in 20 minutes .....
[the second round of storms - with lots of lightning - frightened Stella cat into a mini panic attack - she's now unconscious on top of the cat tree .... Sammy cat slept through the entire storm ... and Goldie occupied the hallway with no windows -- my weather cats!] |

It's misty out now - frogs are simply bellowing! Fireflies flitting through the ground fog.

A very nice morning at 70F with a small breeze and it's only going to be about 90F today. So nice to have a break in the hot weather for a bit.

It was a warmish, humidish day until about 4:00. Then we had a line of thunderstorms move through -- strong winds, very heavy rain, dark as night, except for the rapid fire lightning flashes. Then, it was a coolish, humidish evening.

We suddenly are having very cold (for June/here) nights, down to 2C. It's kinda like having babies again - I'm constantly covered in sleeping cats.

Hottest days of the year this week .... makes my after dinner walk a bit .... stinky .... high humidity slimy sweat ....
Today we had a pop-up shower at my workplace .... no thunder or lightning ... suddenly a monsoon rain began ... lasted for about 20 minutes .... radar showed a tiny blue dot directly over our location ... then full sauna conditions .... just walking outside made my glasses steam up ... |

Driving last night I had a couple of hours of cloud-to-cloud lightning in oppressively humid, but not raining, conditions before I finally ran into the storm. Then there was a heavy downpour with leaves, small branches and miscellaneous debris blowing across the highway. (The minivan hates crosswinds!) Then, 20 minutes later, no rain and the pavement was perfectly dry.
Today, staying in one place, it was hot and humid with just a little breeze. |

Hottest day of the year today - could reach 100 F with heat index well above 100. Of course I forget my windshield sun shield - can't wait to see how hot the steering wheel is at 5 pm.
Of course we're expecting severe storms to cap off the day. |

Warm today, in an outdoor sauna sort of way, with intermittent showers.

Nice storm here earlier tonight with winds in excess of 60 mph. Everything not tied down in our back yard got blown around. Remarkably, the bird nest on top of the wreath on the front porch came through it with flying colors. That robin must know something about engineering, physics, and architecture. Perhaps the nearby bay window redirects the winds around her humble home. That's the second storm this year in which I thought for sure the nest was a goner.
