Wao!Crazy! The v5.2 firmware of SmartQ5/Q7 is so fast!

I have re-flash the Q7 latest firmware of version 5.2, the response is about double or triple faster than before. There is also a over clock version that the cpu run at 800MHz.

Here is the download address:

Yep, the new firmware is faster. The tablet is even usable. I even skinned it like Vista (see screenshot) cause it's so much faster.

Now if I can get a decent media player loaded then I'm sorted.

What's wrong with SMPlayer?

Personally I think the screen is cluttered and I can't resize it. If you look at Media Player for Windows or VLC - thats the sort of thing I'm looking for.

In what way can you not resize? You can full screen it, although I would recommend allocating Right-Click (long tap) to 'exit full screen' in preferences before you go to full screen as it can be difficult to exit full screen otherwise! The other thing to bear in mind is that the supplied version of MPlayer has been tweaked to use hardware acceleration for H.263, H.264, MPEG4 and VC-1 (WMV9) codecs so should give the best video replay for those codecs.

Hi AlanMc
I dowloaded the 5.2 firmware and was able to install it, but after rebooting it got past the language selection screen and them got stuck at the touchscreen calibration screen - it wouldn't respond.
I retried this several times with the 667MHz version and with the 800MHz version but it didn't work. Any clues?
By the way, I also tried to download the OC version that iakovl had suggested but the download link is broken.
Thanks.

The v5.2 versions from SmartD use a calibration app that requires a long tap to register (1-2 secs) so hang in there, it will work.
