HTC Thunderbolt Support (Not Detected)
Hello, I'm a big fan of calibre, and have been using it with my Droid for some time, but I've recently upgraded and have not been able to get the Thunderbolt as a recognized device. Probably something silly that I've failed to do, but as you can see below, it's currently mounted as the "f:" drive, and calibre isn't seeing it as a device. I'm happy to try any suggestions.

Thank you.
I repeat: Thank you! I will be happy to participate in any testing you might need, as well.

You're welcome, it should just work, if not let me know.

Hi Kovid,
I'm a huge fan of calibre (I tell everyone who reads ebooks about it), just bought a Thunderbolt, and was glad to see support for it in the latest release. Thank you. My problem is that calibre only seems to see my Thunderbolt when I mount it as a Disk Drive (mass storage device) in the USB menu. Unfortunately, then my netbook (Ubuntu Linux 10.10) can see the SD card, but calibre cannot, and calibre can only load ebooks into the Thunderbolt's main memory. I want to load ebooks onto the SD card. Please note that my situation may be complicated by my recently setting up App Inventor, so I have USB Debugging turned on, among other things. Apart from only being able to load ebooks into main memory, Thunderbolt support works very well for me. |

OK, here is the debug log.
I started calibre in debug mode with the Thunderbolt connected in Charge Only mode. Then I set the USB connection to Disk Drive mode on the Thunderbolt and sent an ebook to the main memory on the device. Then I put the Thunderbolt into Charge Only mode again and quit calibre. calibre Debug log calibre 0.7.52 Linux-2.6.35-28-generic-i686-with-debian-squeeze-sid Linux ('Linux', '2.6.35-28-generic', '#49-Ubuntu SMP Tue Mar 1 14:40:58 UTC 2011') Python 2.7.1 Linux: ('debian', 'squeeze/sid', '') Starting up... mount: block device /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sr0, missing codepage or helper program, or other error In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so Started up in 21.0666029453 mount: block device /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sr0, missing codepage or helper program, or other error In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so Unable to open device <calibre.devices.android.driver.ANDROID object at 0xab021cc> Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages/calibre/gui2/device.py", line 164, in do_connect File "site-packages/calibre/devices/usbms/device.py", line 711, in open File "site-packages/calibre/devices/usbms/device.py", line 642, in open_linux DeviceError: Unable to mount main memory (Error code: 32) Connect to device failed, retrying in 5 seconds... mount: block device /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sr0, missing codepage or helper program, or other error In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so mount: block device /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sr0, missing codepage or helper program, or other error In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so Unable to open device <calibre.devices.android.driver.ANDROID object at 0xab021cc> Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages/calibre/gui2/device.py", line 164, in do_connect File "site-packages/calibre/devices/usbms/device.py", line 711, in open File "site-packages/calibre/devices/usbms/device.py", line 642, in open_linux DeviceError: Unable to mount main memory (Error code: 32) Device connect failed again, giving up mount: block device /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sr0, missing codepage or helper program, or other error In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so Unable to mount card (Error code: 32) Job: 1 Get device information finished No details available. I think Kovid meant the device detection debug output (preferences->misc->debug device detection) with card inserted.
