What was the "previously-used" problem Woot had? Were some of them already registered and returned? Woot typically doesn't accept returns unless they misrepresent the product as they did with the Augen 7" tablet.

Woot was listing them as new; some that shipped were not new but used, and some of those had apparently been sold and returned for being defective.

So Woot has been replacing those that shipped and were not as represented: new in box. Some returned ones had scratches and signs of use, previous owner's info still on them, etc etc.

North, where did you find this info?

A lot of it is here http://www.woot.com/forums/viewpost.aspx?postid=4464070, on the Woot! message board for the PEs they sold. Note the many positive posts as well. I'm sad for what might have been. <sigh>

Also, Sammy2k, some of us found it strange that some people received Woot's PEs with a very early version of OS, another got a unit whose lids did not have the Entourage embossed logo, which was really strange...
So we tended to interpret that they had dispatched Woot a big lot of the whole remaining stock, including units which were not meant for sale but somehow ended there (returned units, prototype units, old remaining lots in beta testing...).
Well, if they will distribute Ermine in a final release, this would be a good news providing this were true.
While some of us would much like to believe, we must admit that some of the most fervent champions of Entourage have recently stated their disappointment and unwillingness to lend credit to any promise coming from their ranks.

With that (Woot) reputation, Entourage will never rise again.

I am now skeptical about the final Ermine release too. The beta is working perfectly. If I upgrade it to the final version (if released), I am not sure of getting any help or support (other than this forum), in case anything goes wrong.

And honestly, how much longer can we expect this forum to be up and running? It's hard to blame the rats... the ship IS sinking, after all.
