«En mayo de 1905, Luis Azpeitia de Moros forma parte de una comisión, cuyo cometido era la compra de yeguas y caballos árabes en Oriente. El fruto de aquella búsqueda se materializó, con el tiempo, en el pura-sangre árabe español, el internacionalmente famoso "Pure Spanish".
En 1915 el comandante decide relatar los pormenores de aquella expedición, crónica que, sin duda, se ha convertido en un clásico para los aficionados al caballo. Lo hemos rescatado del olvido y nos acerca al mejor caballo del mundo, desde la óptica de aquellos que tuvieron la oportunidad de seleccionar y comprar los caballos y las yeguas cuyos descendientes hoy son considerados como los mejores.»
