Very fast battery drain on K2

I haven't used my Kindle 2 very much for a few weeks but over the weekend I noticed that the battery seemed to be draining very quickly. Yeterday I charged it fully. In less than 24 hours the battery drained to less than 50% with the radio turned on.

Has anyone else seen this? I am going to try turning the radio off and see if that makes a difference. I live in Toronto, Canada have pretty good 3G wireless coverage from Rogers in my home where the K2 was located over this time period.

If you just downloaded a lot of new content it will drain quickly since it has to index the new content, using a lot of cpu.

Turn the wireless function off may help save the battery.

Turning off the wireless will save the battery. There's no question of that. In normal day-to-day usage, the wireless feature is the biggest consumer of power by far.

I saw this once on my K2, I rebooted (hold power switch for 15 seconds to shut it off, then turn it on again) it and that solved the problem.

Also - be sure you're on the latest software (2.3.3) - earlier versions did have battery life problems.

You need to upgrade the software to 2.3.3 not just 2.3
