Eschwartz, good that this works for you. I for once want to find a book that I found myself, not because someone suggested it to me. I can still kick the person that suggested Harry Dresden to me. Have to admit, without it I would not have gotten into this thread here. Now the really funny thing is that I am more addicted to it than the friend of mine - he hasn't even gotten around to read Skin Game yet.
Right now the book is Sand (Hugh Howey). I am not even sure yet if it will be something to recommend. It is different, I suppose. It is not bad (so far), but then I have very seldom found a book that is truly crap - unworthy of reading. "Ready Player One" - excellent book. But not really that different from "As the Mirror cracks" (Steve Lyle Jordan) or new for that matter. Sure writing style is different, and they were both enjoyable to read. I am not sure if everybody that liked Cline will like Jordan though. |

Just start with "Storm Front" and don't go mucking about with character names, alignments, where Harry lives and works, what he drives and for gawds sake don't give him a girlfriend, or a hat. |

Jim Butcher quotes...
“It’s over,” Butters said. Fidelacchius’s ominous hum gave his voice a certain terrifying punctuation. “We make an end of it, right here.” ― Butters, Skin Game |

I wonder if it's anything like the ominous hum of a BH-209?
