JC, if I buy a book from Shortcovers, can I read it both on my Sony 505 and my iPhone? I like having the same book on both (as long as I don't have to pay twice) so one is always at hand.

As long as the book is available in ePub format, you sure can. Make sure there is an 'Available in ePub' icon on the website.

Unless you are able to strip the DRM from the ePub, you'll only be able to read the eBook on your 505. Stanza does not support DRM.

I purchased a couple of books for my Sony last night and went ahead and installed the iPhone app. It looks like you can download your purchases to the iPhone, too. Be warned though, the app does seem a bit buggy. It quit on my twice in the few minutes I tried using it.

Can I download the book I purchase? Are the ePubs downloadable? Last time I registered and try to download the Freebie The Angel Experiment, it's a no-no for ePub download...

Unless I've missed the blindingly obvious, Shortcovers doesn't seem to have a 'Cart' system, ie you can only buy one book at a time. Since my bank charges £1 for each overseas transaction, regardless of amount, this could get expensive if I want to make more than one purchase and swallows up any potential savings. Paypal would be useful here!
Nice site though! |

The Angel Experiment isn't free anymore, but if you bookmarked it while it was free you can still download it.

You need to do some browser testing on different monitors and screen resolutions. I got to the Credit Card info page and found I could not see the buttons to complete the purchase because the footer was larger than it should be on my screen.
I've attached a screen shot. |
