What's a super moderator

I stumbled on to the moderator page and saw that there is a group called supermoderators. What kind of special powers do they come with?

Not even Alex is a super-moderator !

Actually you got moderators, administrators, editors and super moderators on that page.
I don't know the difference behind the groups. Would be interesting if someone could shed some more light on the issue.

I'll try to answer a bit from what I understand. The below information is a start.

From the FAQ page about Moderators and Administrators

Quote:
What are moderators and administrators?

Moderators oversee specific forums. They generally have the ability to edit and delete posts, move threads, and perform other actions. Becoming a moderator for a specific forum is usually rewarded to users who are particularly helpful and knowledgeable in the subject of the forum they are moderating.

Administrators are the people who have overall control of everything that happens on the board. They oversee how the board is styled, what forums to create and how to organize them, what information to require from members and who to appoint as moderators.
We are all "Moderators" and the type of privileges we are given is our difference. Some only oversee certain forums, and the "greenies" or those member names in green even have varying editing privileges. We are a privately owned (Alex) forum and mods are invited to become mods through team decision (we are unpaid). Mods with highest privileges are able to make actual forum structure changes (create forums, subforums), others (like me) don't have those privileges.

Some mods are more active in the main forum while others post infrequently in the main forum (we all try to oversee forum activity). Not all of us are English as a first language - just as members who post in English on the forums are not always English as first language.

We are a team and make decisions as a team (Alex included). As we are international, we are able to have discussions based on viewpoints from around the world, learn from each other, and make our decisions from this.

I hope that answered your question a bit more. Another mod may jump in with more information.

Would that be what's called in English an oxymoron?
