Thinking of selling

Hi guys,
I have had a PRS-505 for a few years now and am now going to the Kindle. The reason comes down to the selection of books that I like to read. I live in Canada and it seems that time and again most of the books I like I cannot download from the Sony Store because of copyright restriction or something like that, but whenever I check at the Amazon store the book I am looking for is readily available.
Is there much market for a PRS-505 these days and if so what should I ask for it. It works perfectly.

Thanks

Before selling, have you looked at Kobobooks? I'm in Canada as well and do all my shopping there (due to the reasons you mention). Of all the books I've searched/purchased, I've yet to find one that wasn't available for purchase. Others have complained about their service, but I haven't had a problem.

I can't comment on the used market for your 505.

EDIT: Forgot to say, if you want to strip the DRM from the amazon books (easy), you can convert and load them on to your 505 no problem.

After checking kobobooks I could find most of what I want but out it looks like the price is substantially more than Amazon.

hmm...perhaps it's the type of books you're looking at. I usually find the prices to be comparable. Plus, Kobo usually has some coupons kicking around. I've never paid over $10.00Can for a book from them. Usually I pay between 7-9 after coupons and taxes.

Regardless, you have a couple of options to consider

Don't you have to buy books on the US kindle store if you have a kindle? If so, you're paying with american dollars, and some credit cards charge stupid fees for each currency exchange.

I will look the site over for a while and compare with Amazon. I just did a quick comparison of 3 books I was looking for and all three were higher. Thanks for the options though.

Your probably right about only being able to buy books from the US kindle store but the dollar being at (or close) to par right now I don't think that will be any problem for the foreseeable future anyway. My credit card hasn't charged any odd transaction fees for cross border shopping that I can see but I will check out.
thanks

If you borrow ebooks from the public library, then the Kindle is not a good choice.
