Because Bliss affects how much Military you have to pay out (or resources you lose) when the Whacks come. It's easy enough to add Bliss from gifts or just buying things, most of the time, so IMHO it's better to keep the Bliss low and add/surge only when you need it, otherwise you'll end up needing more of everything else to compensate.

Don't underestimate bliss!
When it starts dropping it does extremely. And later on you don't have anymore stuff to buy. So no bliss en passant. Blissloss kills your money from assets output Due to that I lacked the 200k to upgrade to 14 this cycle. When your pop has grown watch your food too since there is afair a 2% growth per cycle too. |

I'm curious about people's ideas on how many city cores should be included on the asset grid.
I have 4. Three are antimatter reactor towns and the fourth is the original factory farm town. |

I have 2, the original and an anti-matter reactor. Most of my quick surges are thorium reactors plus a food and a population generator. My biggest problem with the cores is that it seems rather expensive to upgrade them. What do you put in the 3 squares needed to upgrade a core so it doesn't cost much to buy and upgrade? Do you have any cores in the quick surge area?

Nice to think of being able to pick up a free vintage Heinlein or Poul Anderson for playing a game! |

It costs a lot to upgrade. Shrug. You put resources you want to get rid of--the low-level things that don't improve much when they become high-level, or the drop packages you can't otherwise get rid of. It's more relevant that you place pop & bliss around them at other times, so that they don't produce as much of those and instead give you the other resources.

Most definitely. One could only hope that they ignore purple population (as there is almost no way anyone at a higher level can ever pay those murderous crows off).
Left my guys with excess energy for once - the bred like bunnies all night and used it all up (and then some) and ate all the food with their parties. Next time, it's brownouts before bedtime.... |
