Anyone here softrooted a 1.4.0 firmware with a serial as high as 10005??

OK guys, I really need you input here. I just got one of the refurbed 3G Nooks from B&N and, surprise, surprise, I got the 1.4.0 firmware. However, this unit has a serial number way beyond 10003... with my number being 10005...

So my question is, has anyone else done the old traditional softroot on a serial number this high with a 1.4.0 firmware. I really do not want to brick this and that serial number makes me wonder.

Also, as I can identify the internals which will show a second SD socket, does anyone have a guideline for removing the inner back.

Much thanks

Added: I just realized something. This number is 10005 and the cut off was 10030 so it looks as though I have a much older model which seems to be confirmed by the louder click on the buttons as well as the slightly different bar with the nook symbol on it.

Any ideas appreciated. I think I am OK to softroot but I need a second opinion.

I rooted my refurb with a 10005 S/N. As far as I know, as long as your firmware is 1.4.0 and not 1.4.1+, it's OK to root it.

Thanks. I plunged ahead and all went fine. I just saw a report of a 10008 S/N with a 1.4.3 firmware. I'm glad I didn't see that before I softrooted or I never would have made the attempt.

Has anyone attempted to root on the latest round of refurbs with serial 1000xx and firmware 1.4.3 ?

Does upgrading to stock 1.5 affect the ability to root?

Thanks for your input !
