20- "A batch delete tool" similar to "add to collections tools"
for the documents in the Kindle Touch (not the ones in the Personal Documents) |

I can see an exception IF the VGA to USB conversion is done completely inside the VGA/USB converter (shown in the photo) with no device driver. |

A folder based home screen instead of Amazon's amazing idea of a flat tire.
It's possible to use collections and related hacks, but it's cumbersome. |

21 - A method of showing launcher options in the same was as Collections Manager and JBPatch
I'd love a way to add launcher shortcuts to the book list in the way ixtab has managed it, but in the form of a tool which could add and remove them on the fly on the kindle itself, like the Collections Manager. I would like the tool to be hidden away, however, in the launcher menu, so that it may add the shortcuts to the book list without adding clutter itself. Bill |

@BillyBigStuff: What kite did, in essence? I fail to see the interest when we can have the pretty Launcher instead, but, err, if you *really* need that, there's a 'runner' Kindlet laying around here somewhere, that does just that: run something. And since it's a Kindlet, it's in the Home screen as a development active content.

22. JNLP (Java Web Start) for ARM Investigation of jnlp mechanism, how to get them run on Kindle and/or (if not possible) think about the alternatives to JWS. IcedTea and IcedTea-Web Last edited by thatworkshop; 08-13-2012 at 03:45 AM. |

23. fastboot flashing right from within Kindle:
(not impossible) flash kernels with fastboot with a script run from Kindle without the need to attach Kindle to a PC/laptop. Note: This idea came to my mind, inspired by and thanks to this post by eureka. Last edited by thatworkshop; 08-15-2012 at 04:00 PM. |

You SHOULD be able to write directly to the mmc (/dev/mmcblk0), except for the protected areas, from a script using "dd" with offset, but only to areas not currently in use. You do not have such limitations when using fastboot. |

All this automated with a script, with an ARM x-compiled fastboot. Still no cigar? Quote:
My scenario is to be able to switch between KT 5.0.0 and 5.1.0 run from Kindle, with the same freedom that those who run dualboot Duokan and KindleOS have. This might have some use in future too! Last edited by thatworkshop; 08-15-2012 at 11:23 AM. |
