Question for Canadian Kindle 3 Owners

I am surprised to see all these problems shipping to Canada. I live in Halifax and ordererd on Sept 25th with Estimated Delivery Sept 30th.

I still haven't received it yet, but it seems to be making very good and fast progress (DHL). Fingers crossed!

I don't think I've seen a Kindle 3 take the same route twice into Canada.

Amazon is not shop based company. Amazon is based on Internet, so Internet shopping company must have decent ordering system, decent delivery system, and decent tracking system.

The same thing happened to me. It should be delivered on 22. But its been in Des Plaines IL for more than a week. I called canada post they told me they only received the eletroinc conformation about the mail. DHL told me they did not know anything and advise me to call amazon to trace it. Amazon told me they could not do anthing till Oct 18.

My K3 was shipped DHL, it arrived early, about 4 days ahead of the estimated delivery date. The online tracking was great, the item was delivered without any additional fees by a polite DHL employee.

And I agree about UPS; I won't buy from a company that ships UPS, since the customs/brokerage fees are prohibitive and in addition to the fairly high shipping cost I paid at the point of purchase.

UPS is fine if the vendor collects Canadian taxes. It's also fine if you use express shipping. It's UPS ground that's a problem, if the vendor isn't collecting taxes. There are a few US vendors that do (e.g. tigerdirect.ca) so UPS is not a problem.

I ordered my Kindle3 from the US (I am in Canada) on Wed afternoon. I received it thursday morning. The charges were calculated during purchase with no extras after that.
