Dotcom's "head of security" appeared in North Shore District Court yesterday over the unlawful possession of a semi-automatic shotgun so he isn't the only one.

Yes, he'd head to Germany where he can't be extradited. No treaty. I'm not sure Germany wants him but they'd be stuck with him.

The US has an extradition treaty with Germany, but Germany doesn't extradite its own citizens.

I just noticed he also has Finnish citizenship.

Andrew, that's what I meant about no treaty. Germany can't send him to US due to his citizenship.

Well, they did keep arresting him. I think he has two (or three?) different convictions in Germany. That might be a little off putting.

If you have to go to jail, Germany definitely is the place to go. Short sentences and comfortable cells with all the amenities. No abuse.

same for places like norway. they pretty much give convicts little apartments.

how odd that their recidivism rate is far lower than the "hellblocks" in the u.s. maybe treating people, who have so little of anything in their lives that they resort to crime, like human beings is the answer?

Lol dotcom was convicted of the largest insider trading crime in the history of Germany. Not exactly a kid stealing food for his family.

It was however complying with copyright requests and removing copyrighted content when asked too ala Youtube. But the problem is it wasnt just a copyright infinging site, in the same way Youtube isnt.

My understanding is that MU was NOT removing copyrighted content - they were just giving that particular item a different hyperlink and users could still download the infringed material with no problems.

These stupid jerks even had the balls to email each other about doing this and KEPT the emails.
