Converting epub into pdf with print pagination
Hi guys,
i have a working epub-file and a print edition of the book. Now I need to create a PDF with the same pagination number as the print edition. Is there a more or less handy way to do it automatically, or is there a lots of manual work? Probably there are already tons of tutorials, but I'm so new to the topic, that I don't even know what to look for... so sorry in advance for doubling threads! |

That's next to impossible to achieve (in an automatic way)... unless you insert a manual pagebreak for each print-page

Calibre has an option (Preferences > Structure detection > Insert page breaks) witch could be used to do things like that, but the ePUB has to have some kind of clear indication of pagination in the actual code. It doesn't need to be a page number, you could use a header or any other specific tag with a class. So, it depends on how your ePUB was actually coded. If you insert these marks in the code, you can convert it to a PDF with the same pagination as the printed edition.
Have a look: http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/conv...ture-detection Last edited by PageLab; 09-05-2012 at 09:03 AM. Reason: fixing typos |

You say you have the print edition, does this mean you have the print edition layout file(s)? If so you'd want to create the PDF from that, not the ePub.
