Various: The Phantom Detective Sampler. V1. 29 Sep 2011

The Phantom Detective was Standard Magazine's response to the launch of The Shadow Magazine by Street & Smith. Although it ran for far fewer issues (170 instead of 325) its less frequent schedule meant it held the record for the longest-running single-character pulp, lasting for over 20 years.
There were also at least 2 different series of a British reprint edition (one under the title Phantom Mystery Magazine), as well as a Canadian reprint edition.

Blue Heat—G.T. Fleming-Roberts

Detective Faring Couldn’t Take a Joke—But He Was No Slouch When It Came To Action!

Time Will Tell—JOE ARCHIBALD

Bat Gore, Petty Larceny Crook, Gets a Bright Idea That Leads to Some Dark Moments!

The RAG-TAG GIRL—NORBERT DAVIS

In His Attempt to Get a Friend Out of Jail, Lunsford Takes a Warped Path Through Underworld Trickery and Swift Slaughter!

The Chair Cheater—PAUL ERNST

Round by Round, Check Gavey Outpointed the Law, but Fate Was a Different Kind of Opponent

New Year’s Eve Test—JOHNSTON McCULLEY

Patrolman Larry Murphy wants to be a plainclothesman—and makes a good start when he tackles a tough gang!
