Lightbulb Sony Home Screen has a hidden app launcher!!!

I just found out that the stock Sony Home Screen has a hidden app launcher!!!

I don't know how to access it from home menu, maybe there is a secret key combination.

But you can launch it via adb for instance:
Code:
adb shell am start -a android.intend.action.MAIN -n com.sony.drbd.ebook.home/.activities.LauncherPageActivity
This seems to be a nice fallback if something like ADW Launcher is broken...

Note, that you cannot scroll it with page turn buttons!

For anyone wishing to have a peak at said launcher/app-drawer without hooking up ADB, you can do it from ADW if you've got it installed:

Create a new ADW homescreen "Custom shortcut" and select "Activities." From there you can expand the "Home" category and select "Home(.activities.LauncherPageActivity)".

Interestingly this apps page shows up as "Page 3 of 2", and you can go back to the two standard Sony menu screens (though you can't return to the launcher once you do).

cool

it would be very nice to have it (maybe a little bit organized) as a third page in the home

Sounds like it's ripe for a hack to enable it, maybe replacing one of the page 2 buttons...

Is this the same "third page" which has been made accessible through the modified EbookHome.apk posted on the-ebook.org?

For people who maintain wiki page - link which was published earlier (from the-ebook.org) for updated EbookHome.apk now points to the version of package which does not require editing of build.prop file. In the new code 3rd page will always be active and will show only applications you installed and a link to Android System Settings.

Thanks rupor for your work!

I clarified the instructions in the wiki and also added a link to the modified EbookHome from Morkl.
