With respect, I think it's far from reasonable, considering that these two models are only sold in the US. Amazon are a world-wide company, and Kindles sell massively well in many other countries too.

I would actually guess the highest sales would come off the basic model.
For $79, a lot of people who were previously on the fence would be tempted to jump in. |

I picked up a pair of the low end Kindles for Christmas. One was for myself in place of my Kindle 2 which will be reading books to my visually impaired wife and the other is for my son as a gift. Amazon has a wonderful marketing plan and makes getting new content very simple and inexpensive.

I think that's right. I gave my sister a Kindle for Xmas last year - the $140 model. This year, for $160, I could give *two*.
