Problem Sorting by Author on Jetbook

I am a new Jetbook user. When I click on Firmware Version it says Software v0.30i Patch v12.

I have my books on SD card. They are mostly txt format. I have renamed the files to be Author#Title. I update the SD card on my PC and move the card to the Jetbook.

When I flip through the book list, not all the books are in alphabetical order.

This is what I have tried: 1. Check the SD card on the PC - the files show in the correct order on the PC. 2. Defrag the SD card on the PC. 3. Push the reset on the Jetbook and reinsert the SD card.

Most of the books do sort correctly, but not all. What should I do? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Is there a limit to the number of files in a folder? I notice that the smaller folders appear to be correct, but that may just be a coincidence.

Are you hoping to sort by first or last name? I think it may do last name. An example of the names of the files (and how they display in the jetBook) would help.

Here is an example of one folder:
The by Author list is 78 pages. The first 38 pages are okay, on page 39, names are listed out of order (I'll just type first 3 characters for example)

...
So one occurrence of name beginning Lan sorts before names beginning Lad and the other occurrences sort correctly following Lam...

Well, first I would recommend using subfolders as 78 pages would be a PAIN to navigate.

Second, could you please give some full names along with the file names? Are you using underscores in the author's names? I heard the proper format is:

First_Last#Title

First name, UNDERSCORE, Last Name for Author. Not sure if it would make a difference, but perhaps you could give more details...?

First - thanks for the suggestion on subfolders. I have started using them.

I have set up an example of my problem. I'm using three "Authors" named Lily, Lily K and LKY. Their books are named 01, 02, etc. I have set up two folders with similar content.

Example 1 - works okay

The folder contains this file (L Books) and 23 other txt files with the following names:

Lily#01
Lily#02
Lily#03
Lily#04
Lily#05

Lily K#01
Lily K#02
Lily K#03

Lky#01
Lky#02
Lky#03
Lky#04
Lky#05
Lky#06
Lky#07
Lky#08
Lky#09
Lky#10
Lky#11
Lky#12
Lky#13
Lky#14
Lky#15

Note that the initials "Lky" have upper case "L" and lower case for "ky".

They display in the JetBook as:
L Books
Lily 01
Lily 02
Lily 03
Lily 04
Lily 05
Lily K 01
Lily K 02

Lky 03
Lky 04
Lky 05
