We got tons of rain & wind - but fortunately all came through OK. Some tornadoes reported to the east of us. Today - quite cool! High of 70 F! No humidity! |

COLD & RAINY! Well, cool (high temp of 55 F today - after a week of 80+ F days). Woke up to thunderstorms - with temps in the 50's! Strange ....
So, I had to take my new chamois PJ's for a test drive tonight! Super warm & snugly [are you reading this SS?] - I'm sure to be smothered once the cats discover how soft these thing are ... |

Still awaiting the wetter than normal winter that is predicted for us. Unfortunately, the local forecast remains bone dry for the next ten days.

We are on our way up in temperatures again. Heater is off and hoping the a/c doesn't have to go on at home, although we are using it at work.
I was just wearing sweaters and jackets and now having to switch back to summer clothes. Strange weather. |

The strange meterological phenomenon that occurred here today is called the sun. Sun in Oz, you might ask? And well you may. Spring has been officially in Melbourne for the past 6 weeks and most of it spent huddling in front of a heater. Jackets and scarves. Woolly socks. Gales coming up from the Antarctic.

Severe storms coming our way today & tonight - a "powerful cold front" is swinging into our area - fun!

Battening down the hatches - waiting for Hurricane/TS Sandy - the forecasters are still uncertain as to its exact path.

Yeah, looks like Frankenstorm is headed our way just in time for Halloween.

The last weather map I saw had it passing over my house. Oh, well. Last Halloween it was snow and a week without power. Bad as it looks, this could still be a notch or two better than that.

When I got up, Frankenstorm was 30 miles off Cape Hatteras and moving sluggishly but steadily north. We're getting gusty winds here, but not much else. |

I thought we would be in the clear once the dang thing moved north - but no! It seems once it makes its "left" turn & hits land - it will turn into a super nor'easter - and become immense - so we will get more wind & rain Monday night & Tuesday!

I'm still watching all the preparations and warnings for the East Coast. I hope everyone follows the warnings and it will be less that what they are expecting.
