Converting User Manuals to PDFRead

Hi,

I'm hoping to convert my user manuals for Final Cut Studio 2 for my Kindle, but these don't seem to be a traditional PDF format. Has anyone tried converting Mac user manuals to read on their ebook reader? I haven't tried it yet, but I don't want to convert 1,000+ pages only to find that it doesn't work. Any input would be great

The PDF you are trying to convert will end up looking like a mess. To fix the mess will take a lot longer then you will want to spend. My advice.. don't bother. If you wanted to view PDF, you picked the wrong reader.

Yet another reason why I'm considering the switch to Sony.

I'm confused. Why put a manual for computer software on an ebook reader instead of on the computer where the software resides?

To read it, comfortably/leisurely.

You can use PDFRead to convert a range of page numbers so that you may first try different settings on a 10-20 page subset. Then, if all works well, do the entire 1000+ pages.

If the resulting print is too small in portrait mode, then use the 'mobi-prc' landscape profile using 'landscape-half' layout mode.

Again experiment on small page range, preferably, around Chapter One until you are satisfied.

Precisely. I use and read the manual on my computer for quick reference, but I try to make these programs second nature and I don't want to read a 1000 page manual off my computer.
