This is true for the Sony Readers as well. There really isn't any reason that the number needs to appear on the right of the pages becuase it also appears at the bottom. Hopefully, Sony/ADE will give us an option in the future to toggle the right hand number on or off.

Personally, the numbers in the right margin on ePub files don't really bother me too much, but I would turn them off if I had the optoin to.

The only reason I can think that they serve is to show you which precise line a particular page starts on. I suppose there may be situations in which one might wish to know that, but I can't think of any off-hand.

You're right - an option to switch them on or off would be the ideal solution.

Ps.: Is the page number always in the top corner? Or is it more often wherever the hell vertically in the margin space?

Why would Sony remove LRF support from the 505/700 as has been suggested in this thread?

If they did this, 4000 ebooks on MR would be useless to most users.

I know most of this has probably been answered by reading all the posts but I am confused...perhaps a poll on epub or a pro con list...also if sony is switching to entirely epub..hopefully they will correct and advance the tech..look and dislikes that plague epub at the moment..does that sound naive..or what
There is nothing that states that conversion from LRF/LRX will be possible or ever officially supported.

For screenshots of the two devices (on different pages) see Just got my Cybook Opus posts #50 and #51.
Note that if you want to view the title bar on the EZ Reader to see, for example the battery life or your progress through the book you need mearly to press the OK button. Pressing it again removes the bar.

The biggest problem would be to make Digital Editions authorize the reader so you can read drm epub.
Same processor as the 505, not 500.

We said that already: To save space in the Firmware-ROMs for other more interesting features. And as HarryT mentioned: the 500 only has space in the Firmware-ROM for one format.

I was talking about the 505 which currently supports both LRF and EPUB.
