Chinese Font Problem

Hi,

I have a question that was posted elsewhere, but I'm not sure if it can be solved by the unicode hack suggested. The problem is that certain Chinese characters show up darker than others when I save a Word doc into an RTF and then convert the RTF to either ePUB or Mobi using Calibre (the Word doc and RTF look fine themselves). I haven't even loaded the ePUB or Mobi to the Kindle yet, as I'm waiting for it, but if it has display issues in Calibre, I'm guessing it won't work in the Kindle either. Is there anyone who can help me with this?

Thank you!

Unless the chinese characters are images vs. fonts how they look on your pc has nothing to do with how they'll look on a reader - sounds like you're using a bad font with Calibre or whatever reader you're using on the PC.

I'm not sure if the Kindle supports chinese at all.

There was a similar discussion on this earlier today/yesterday - never hurts to browse/search the forums to see if there are answers already:

Chinese Font Fixed

Hi ldolse,

The books do look fine on my Kindle 3, so thanks! I had only searched the forum for any posts about Chinese problems, but it was clever to look for any type of font problems!
