Yes, it does. I wonder how it triggers the sleep/wake-up thing? A magnetic switch perhaps?

It's not, unfortunately, as I said upthread. And it's still not.

The quote I referenced came from here:

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-relea...168728666.html
Since they are only available for shipping in October a few days delay is hardly a major issue? The intention and the arrangements with these retailers are obviously already made...

And Indigo won't ship them to the US.

Not exactly an Amazon-like high-velocity rollout so far...

It must have worked as someone posted on Whirlpool with a link to the pre-order page. See http://www.collinsbooksblog.com.au/kobo-pre-order/. I haven't seen a price yet.

The big question is whether we are going to get slugged with the traditional Australian Retailer Tax? And how badly.

From what I've read, it should be releasing with an RRP of AUD 159.99, so about $17 above the US price plus GST. Not too bad considering how badly marked up some other electronics are when they hit Australia. IIRC, it was The Age and CNET Australia where I saw that price.

In France, the preorder is possible at FNAC (either from their website or from their physical stores) but the available date is on octobre 15th. I bought a touch in the end of novembre last year, but I think I'll buy this one and give my touch to my son.
