Library Books and Kindle
I have some questions on downloading library books to your Kindle. I just downloaded a book that was available only it went straight to my Archived Items. When I try and open I get the "now downloading" message but it doesn't move on to my Kindle page like purchased archived items. Does this mean that the book really isn't available?

Are you using wi-fi? If you have an older Kindle, with only 3G, you will have to download to your pc and move via USB to the Kindle.

Yes, it's an older item. I didn't have any trouble transferring it to my Kindle but it went straight to the archived items. Very odd. That didn't happen with the first downloaded library book. I'm thinking it has something to do with the library lending policy but there's no information.

It's a known glitch in older Kindles, Kindle apps and Kindle4PC.

Finally got an answer on the book I couldn't check out. It seems that any Kindle Library books have to be handled through Kindle support your local libraries can't do anything else. Seeing my loan is over tomorrow I'll let the next person deal with it.

The book I just got from my local library won't download to my kindle. When I check, it is listed in downloading items, but it says "wi-fi required-0%." It looks like it does want to send it to my archive (I see an unhighlighted version of the title there) but it's not downloading at all, even though wi-fi is very much on.
Thoughts? I could, of course, download it to my mac and then put it on the kindle. Or I could read it on my rooted nook color or my phone, so it's hardly an emergency, but I would like to know why I can't read it on my actual kindle! eta: NEVERMIND! Just remembered I don't use wi-fi at home with the kindle; I always use 3G instead. Apparently, as noted above, it won't come over 3G, so I guess that's the problem...
