Hi all /wave

im very interested in the 360 a this point ( I currently use a ebookwise 1150 ), but I was wondering if there was support for folders or groups?

The PocketBooks support folders and sub-folders. Actually I personnally have not seen anything like it elsewhere, not Kindle, not Sony, not Nook, not Astak, not Cybook. Don't know about Illiad.

Go to PB's website e.g. PocketBookReader.com and download the manual.

Take any file on the PB and you have the option to move it into a folder that you create, and sub folder. Right from the reader itself. Also, you can organise your files on your desktop computer, copy it to the SD card (micro for the 360), insert it to the reader and there they are.

Also you can clip out text from a book and put it into a folder that you create and copy it to your PC. You can have different folders for different types of quotes. Don't know if you can clip from PDFs, best get the manual.

Hope this helps,

Hal.

1- Folders can be created, renamed, moved, copied, and deleted right on the PB360.
2- Files can also be copied, moved, renamed or deleted locally.
3- In addition, you can choose how to display book files (by filename or by book title, if available in metadata) and how to sort them.
4- The bookshelf transparently aggregates folders from onboard memory and any installed flash card into a unified folder list.
5- It tracks books with icons by location (onboard or flash card), whether they've been opened, and whether they've been finished.
6- It is possible to flag specific books into a separate favorites list.
7- The default GUI home menu displays the last two opened books.
8- The power button can be configured to display the last ten opened books; this list can be used to switch from one book to another without having to quit to the bookshelf.
9- The GUI home page can be re-skinned to display as many as 10 recently opened books.
10- I'm sure I'm missing a few file management features, too.

Also:

- eBooks can be sorted by series (in FB2, this is the tag "<sequence>", in EPUB it's "calibre:series" and "calibre:series_index" metatags). To do that, press and hold "OK" (the joystick center button) in the books list and choose "Sort" -> "Series".
- You can specify the "Details" view for the books list (in Settings -> Appearance), which shows the book cover (if available), the title and the series it belongs to, as well as some other infos. Book covers are cached, so that a second viewing of the same book list goes much faster.

On the PocketBook you have a regular file system structure, like on a ftpserver or any filesystem.
Also you have different ways to sort 'em like in the most file-explorers.
They can be created like on any other HDD/SD-Card/USB-Stick. The Menu "Books" will list all readable files in this folder, when you explore to a folder or to the rootdir.
Even if you have on SD and Internal-memory the same foldernames, PocketBook can handle em, it will display a symbol for SD and for internal-memory aside the folder. (Same procedure for same files in same dir)

The folder creation works very neatly. It's a bliss, I must say.

Lots of devices have full folder support - CyBook, BeBook/Astak/Hanlin, iRex, etc. The only ones that actually don't tend to be the "big name" devices such as the Kindle, Sony, and nook.

Thanks Harry. My error on the other devices. Certainly PocketBook does it really well.
