Boox T68 - Screensaver Image

Is it possible to change the screensaver image for when the T68 is in sleep & power off mode?

I know there is a site that specializes in the kindle screensaver images, and they would also be great to use for this device too

This is not possible without root device.
These images are embedded in framework.apk, you would have to edit it and replace it.
It's quite a complicated operation and to repeat after each update.

I thought it might require root access to access & replace the images, but I didn't realise that I'd have to edit an apk file

I've been able to do this on my M96 using the NinjaMorph app. Just needs root. The app will do the editing for you.

I believe the same method should work on T68, or for that matter on any Android device.

Copy the standby*.png images via USB (say, to Download/standby_images).

On a rooted device, you can run:

Code:

adb shell

and then

Code:

shell@android:/ $ su
root@android:/ # mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock8
root@android:/ # cp -r /sdcard/Download/standby_images/* /system/media/
