Adobe Acrobat subject to remote exploit

US-Cert warned of a recently discovered security exploit in Adobe Acrobat that could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on your computer or cause a denial-of-service attack. Adobe is taking the issue serious and urges users to update immediately. Of course smart users don't use Adobe Acrobat at all, but if you have some PDF files you cannot live without, you should head right to Adobe's download section.

As if you need another reason to not use Acrobat...

As for alternative PDF readers... OSX users have the builtin Preview.app, Linux users have XPDF, and it's various incarnations, and Windows users have... (Bear with me... Googling...)

...

Ok, so I can't find a good open source PDF viewer for Windows...

Why is it that there are an over-abundance of Windows software in some categories (P2P, music players, etc.), and a total lack in other categories?

You could try Foxit Reader; it's not open-source, but it's free and more lightweight than the standard viewer.

Foxit Reader 2.0 is fantastic!
It is compatible most functions of adobe reader.
It open PDF file fast and its installation is smaller.
