Even if my wife makes me buy her another one (or another one for me,) it would still be just about the same cost as shipping one from across the pond. When I bought my Sony 505 there were no e-readers being sold in Japan. Now I can get them in local stores (I don't even have to go down town,) for about $75 USD. The Sony Touch is selling for about $100, and it's actually more than "I" need in a reader. I don't need the annotations, dictionary, MP3 player, or, in fact, even the SD card ability. If it can hold 50 books at one time, and display them clearly, I'm quite satisfied. In any event, I figure with 9-10 e-readers up for grabs, and the low number of entries, my chances of winning one are better than for winning the lottery, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. But I really do thank you for thinking of me in my time of crisis. I'll get back in touch with you when I need a loan for my new fusion-powered stealth motorcycle. Stitchawl |

NOW you say that. If you'd mentioned it last week you could have had the one I gave away to my brother!! (He didn't take the hint, though, and is still hanging around...).

Friggedy Fragg.
What do you do? Someone spends over 30 years treating patients for a particularly difficult to deal with disease and after many successful results and praise from patients writes a book on the subject explaining the reasons for their success. If not cured of the disease altogether, the reduction of the adverse effects improves quality of life so the patients can function in society once again. Then, a nurse who has a particular interest in the disease who disagrees with what she reads in the synopsis of the book writes a damning comment about the doctor's methods. Her comment indicates she didn't read the book. However she rated it with 1 star. Subsequently, other sufferers of the disease who claim they were mistreated by the medical profession decided to add their opinion with "Well done" comments. It seems that from the comments no one has actually read the book. The Doctor's reply to the nurse's original comment correcting a misconception ended by asking that only people who have actually read the book comment. That was ignored. |

I would *try* calling Amazon (assuming that's where the comments are) and making a case that they be removed since they state that they haven't read the book. You never know -- they may help.

However, I'll not recommend any further comments from the author. That had a pretty bad result for another in the past. Although she did go WAY over the top. Anyway . . . . Moving on. |

I just heard a funny noise from the other room, but refuse to call out 'Is anyone there?'

Smart and remember that the ones that go look also die. I always yell out to those people in the movie and they never listen.

In this case it turned out to be Felicity trying to climb onto a bookshelf in the front room. Unfortunately for her, there were some loosely piled books in the way...

If only people would take precautions and follow the safety guidelines.....my son is constantly having to deal with things like this. I'm hoping they find the guy, but odds are not good at this point...
