Ebook readers in India
Hi,
Check out http://ereaderindia.com/ They seem to be selling EReaders in india. Seem very low profile. They barely show up in a google, etc., search. However, their price is very unreasonable. Last I inquired the Cybook was priced at 30000Rs. Thats close to 600$ approx at current exchange rate. But, please dont take me to court for this; Please verify yourself, the contact numbers are available in their website. No responses for email/subscriptions. Also as per resellers list, I have never seen Landmark or Crossword carry an ebook reader(6+ months old knowledge). If anyone knows about other Ebook reader availability in India? Please share this info. Thanks hari |

Thanks for the tip. I have been hunting for one. As and when I find more information would get back with it. I did see an advertisement for Sony PRS 505 on one of the importer's website but when I called them, no one picked up the phone, with web pages its difficult to tell if the information is current or not

thanks rhari.
Not looking for Kindle/Sony. Am more interested in BeBook Neo/Onyx Boox 60. Waiting for any of my friends from China/Hong kong to fly back to India so that I can ask them to get onyx boox 60 along with them Unfortunately, nobody is coming back in near future. The problem with ordering online is the shipping charges The final shipping cost goes to around $380 to $400 BTW, I have checked Infibeam. somehow i dint like the product . its a basic eBook reader with no strings attached regards, rsk |

Infibeam Pi is a white branded product from a Chinese OEM manufacturer C-Double Tek from Guangdong.
Some of the other clones are: Foxit eSlick iRiver Libre Bookeen Cybook Gen3 Astak Mentor C-Double Tek's ve100. I wouldnt pay $222 for Pi if i can get a Sony PRS 600 from US for $250 (Rs. 11500) excluding shipping from a friend. Also Pi doesnt work with Calibre. |

Hmm But if you have to pay almost 600 USD for Sony, Maybe I think perhaps online ordering Kindle 2 global wireless is a cheaper choice instead of buying e-reader in India. I've know they will charged you for the shipping but I don't think it be that much.

Shipping kindle to india comes out like this. I just tried a sample order on amazon.
Kindle Cost: 259.0$ Shipping: 20.98$ Import Tax: 98.59$ Total: 378.57$ Dont Bebook ship internationally?? Ordering from bebook is also a possibility, only i see the bebook neo is in preorder. |

Anything that you order from US directly will increase the cost by at least 50% & you still wouldn't have a proper warranty coverage or service centers.
My Sony Prs 600 is on way should be having in hand next week. |
