Metadata/tag question
When adding books to Calibre, should I fetch metadata and add tags and then convert to other formats, or convert 1st and then fetch metadata and add my tags. Or does the order really matter.

Tag (your own or download) first, then convert. The tags and cover, then become part of most formats.

If you want the cover, description and tags as part of the converted file then go back and reconvert after you have added them.
