But NAAFA refers to 'fat people'; e.g.
http://www.naafaonline.com/dev2/the_issues/index.html It seems to be one of those terms that you're never quite sure how acceptable it's going to be to other people. I've just started an effort to lose some weight. My approach is to consume no more than 2000 cals a day till I've shifted it. |

Edit: This is getting a bit too heavy. I didn't mean to drag the discussion in a confrontational direction. Have fun, but be kind to one another.

For the record I do not refer to fat people as fat as*es.
By fat as*es I mean the people who can walk perfectly fine but are too lazy to go from their car in the parking lot to the store they are parked at without the aid of a scooter. |

Some dude at work has a scooter and actually picked it up over his head to climb a flight of stairs.

Alright! The careful eating is back on. Not too carefully, but I have managed to lose the extra weight I put on last month or two. Funny, I don't seem to be any bigger, just heavier. Maybe there is more steel in my buns?

I was slim and trim right up until 36.5yrs of age... then they took away the squash courts in town and then I had a breakdown... fast forward to now and I've grown two jeans sizes and have a 'belly' now ... and I have to say it hurts, literally. My spleen and liver have grown over size due to glandular fever which pushed everything else out. Thankfully now things are getting better but I dare say I have to dump a good 10~15kg.
For my diet, I'm not eating less, in fact I have to eat more and do more exercise, rather boring when there's no squash courts to play in |

I'm still working on this but I've lost 52 lbs. since early April. Currently at 164 lbs. I have another 10 or so more to lose. But I feel great! Any other updates?

My metabolism gets slower as I get older - drat. So I find I cannot eat much throughout the day or I'll be as big as a house. When people ask Kathy Griffin how she stays so thin at 50, she says she's hungry and bitter. I'm in touch with that. I also laugh at my younger friends who can eat whatever they want without gaining a pound. You wait, skinny b*tches. I'm just as thin...but hungry. Always hungry. :-)
